This was the first KCBC beer that I ever reviewed on here that I did not buy myself, as someone threw this in as part of a recent trade. Of course, I've had plenty from them since they're opening and I was hoping that this would be a dank beer that was just soft and plush as their other IPA's. Thankfully, it was as it was also quite green and spice as both hops were quite prominent in the final result!
Not a bad pour to this as the liquid was plenty hazy and cloudy without any sediment floating in it. It's deep an muted gold hue was on par for their more famous offerings as plenty of head topped this off. Most of the lacing left behind was spotty with some thin rings lingering along the top half of my pint glass. Candied sugar, dank mango, papaya, and melon, and spicy onion and scallions filled the nose as the taste contained a much more pronounced earthy feel. A soft slickness, underlying greenness, and hint of stone fruit, apricot, and swamp water rounded out the taste as this was a beer with a light mouthfeel and a heavy taste to it.
It was nearly impossible to detect the alcohol, as well as the malt, here with the carbonation just being present enough to let the juice stand out over the heavier flavors. Canned on 11/6 of last year, this held up well over the last four months as there wasn't anything visible in the liquid, or at the bottom of it when I got down to there. With a ton of melon in the aftertaste, this was a turbid beer that needed a chaser of water, and deserved another go-around as I enjoyed it and it's lack of overt burn. This was fun stuff, down to the crazy label!

16oz can dated 11/3/20.
Pours cloudy gold with a short-lived head of white. Minimal retention or lacing. Green onions with papaya, tangerine and candied pear in the nose. Medium bodied with a soft but thinnish and a bit flat mouthfeel. Dank and tropical on the palate with zero malt or bitterness. Mango, melon, and pears. Finishes juicy and dank.
