Palate Contaminants: other beer
Plenty of medium-fine white head, leaving decent lacing. Nice ochre color. That head does stick around a while. Points.
The nose has lightly sweet pineapple and red grapefruit. Powdered sugar, too, and there's a bit of earthiness underlying it all.
That earthiness is the main flavor, and although it's plenty pleasant, there's not a whole lot more. Lemongrass and mossy malt. Bitterness is slight, so at least that doesn't push everything else out of the way, as sometimes happens. If I go hunting for savoriness, it's slight. So, what's there is nice, but it's not notably complex. Medium-light malt is more present as it warms.
Good amount of fine carbonation that's not prickly. Aftertaste is the red grapefruit and lightly bitter moss, and the sweetness has disappeared. Medium-coarse carbonation. Alcohol comes on a bit strong for the ABV.
