Pours a hazy red color, notes of ruby, strawberry and pink. A modest head rapidly dissipates.
Nose opens with lactic sour notes with a bready and wheat like background. Sweet aromas of strawberry, blackberry, banana, lime and milk sugar.
Moderate to intensely sour, with tart fruit notes taking the edge off. Notes of strawberry, blackberry, banana, lemon, lime and peppery spices. Doughy bready malts evoke sourdough and wheat, while the sweetness of milk sugar is restrained, yet balances the sour.
Medium bodied to nearly full. The mouthfeel has a sharp twang from the acidity, yet it’s very accessible. Finish is dry with a moderate mouth puckering acidity. The carbonation is moderate.
Nice fruited sour overall. Very refreshing on a hot summer day, yet I see it taking on different roles such as a dessert beer, palate opener or even good in and of itself for all seasons. I would have again.
