12 oz. pour on draught at the brewery. Served in a stemless glass. It pours a very dark walnut - nearly black - with a modest, medium mocha-colored head and thin sheen of lacing. While cocoa dominates the nose, the smell also features roasted malt, vanilla, and nuts. It's highly fragrant. The taste is fantastic! It opens with a strong dose of fudge, along with caramel, marshmallow, and earthy, nutty char in the background. The mouth feel is luxuriously rich and creamy with mild carbonation, and it's extremely drinkable for 12% ABV. Overall, The Works is an excellent Imperial Stout. I wish I had bought cans to take home. I would drink this any time.
