Pours a murky, amber-hued near black with a finger of creamy dark-khaki head. Great retention and thin sheets of lacing.
Low-quality chocolate sweetness, definitely some saltiness, and hints of wheat bread and coffee in the nose.
The taste has the same chocolate, a hint of coffee and some plum fruit sweetness up front. There’s wheaty doughiness and some salt on the backend, which make it fairly dry finishing.
Super creamy mouthfeel. Tight carbonation. Best part of the beer.
Not one I’d revisit. The aftertaste lacks any chocolate or malt depth. Just sort of mushy and salty.
