32oz crowler filled at the South Hill Growler Guys in Spokane, WA, on March 24, 2018.
Poured into Young Buck's take on a Belgian glass, this is a slightly chill-hazed coppery amber color, with a good sized beige colored head that was fairly quick to fall but left lots of lace.
Big fruity and spicy nose. Just the sort of esters one expects from such a beer.
Fruity and spicy in equal measure at the beginning of the taste. The peppery and clove-y spiciness wins out, dominating by the finish, which is slightly dry. The rather high alcohol content is not obvious from the taste.
Body and mouthfeel are just a little bit bigger than a true Belgian example, but much closer than most American versions.
Really enjoy this beer. Although I put this down as rotating when I first added it to BA, it seems to be a regular at the Steel Barrel, so perhaps it's to be brewed year round. I won't complain about that.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
