Von Wolfhausen from Eureka Heights Brew Company. Six-pack of 12 fl oz cans, picked up 06/11/25, at HEB, New Braunfels, TX. Reviewed 12/11/25, review 3626. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Can bottom stamped “CANNED ON 08/29/25.” Stored at home at 37 degrees F. Served at 40.8 degrees F in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature is 48.0 degrees F.
Appearance – 3.5
First pour – Pale Gold (SRM 4), hazy.
Body – Deep Gold (SRM 6), slight chill haze. Under direct light, same. When rear-lite, same.
Head – Average (Maximum 1.8 cm, aggressive center pour). Off white, high density with rocks, short retention, leaving 0.1 - 0.15 cm bubble ring and a thin partial cap.
Lacing – None.
Aroma – 3 – Basically none - no malt, no hops, no alcohol (4.5% ABV according to the label).
Flavor – 3 – Begins with slightly sweet and barely tasted malt – ends the same. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. Eventually, slight gastric warming.
Palate – 4 – Medium: Watery: Soft but lively carbonation.
Style: Follows the BA style description.
Final impression and summation: 3.25 Uncredited art work. Average American Märzen, typical of the style. Being odorless and nearly tasteless merely makes it unoffensive, not tasty.

Light amber, mostly clear, medium white head.
Smell is very light, toasted malt, bread dough, brown sugar.
Taste is toasted malt, brown bread, a little sweetness, some floral hops.
The mouthfeel is medium light. This is very drinkable, kinda like a light Oktoberfest.
Good stuff.

Serving: 12 oz can (stamped “08/17/20 zee best beer”) poured into a 7 oz Libbey Gibraltar glass. Clear amber brown with a frothy head of off white foam. Mild malty aroma, some caramel and toasted grainy bread, and a hint of herbal, spicy hops. More maltiness on the palate, caramel and toasted grains, as well as a hint of spicy, earthy hops. Light to medium body and moderate carbonation. A crisp, drinkable Märzen.
