Not an excellent beer, but for the ABV the alcohol is well integrated. Not as syrupy as some other beers in this same space.
The tropical fruit flavors perhaps are vague, but at least not as forced as the Voodoo Ranger offerings. Or like the crosstown offering the Tropic Boom by St Arnold’s.
“Hazy” is generous term. Modestly hazy.
Dry hop brightness not as present as one would hope for the type. Nor doesn’t it have the bitterness I’d be hoping for.
Even despite its faults, I don’t regret the 6-pack can purchase and it will be finished. And while we have good beers in the city, Spindletap may be putting out the city’s best hazies.

A: Pours with a light haze, a golden/yellow color. There is a small white head that forms, and light lace is left behind.
S: Aroma is melon, citrus, maybe more of some kind of tropical fruits I'm not picking out clearly...Simple and not particularly aromatic.
T: That melon, citrus, generic fruit salad flavor is there. A bit "juicy" as the saying goes. Syrupy sweet, with no real bitterness. The sweetness boarders on what I would call "cloying" but doesn't exactly reach that threshold.
M/O: A full body with moderate/low carbonation. I would like this to be more crisp, and less syrupy. Not hard to drink though, especially if you are in the juicy IPA mood.

While not bad, I would personally like this to be more crisp and bitter. I prefer the regular Mini Boss, instead of the "imperial" version. Which hits the balance of the new age hops, carbonation levels I like, and a more bitter finish. This is fine, but lacking for me.

Pours a somewhat clear golden color with a finger-width foamy head. Head retention is very good as is the lacing. Has a tropical citrus aroma. Nice, smooth citrus taste. There is some sweetness to it. Hint of pine at the end. Light to medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. Great offering by Eureka Heights!

Canned 3/8/24. Drank 3/21/24
Pour is a crystal clear golden, leaning every so slightly copper. Chalk white head with great retention.
Nose is tropical berries, peach, pear, citrus
Taste is quite unique. melon, tropical fruit, very prominent malty sweet bread character that overlays a lowish bitterness. Leaves the beer a touch on the sweet side. Not cloying, or syrupy....just, a bit sweet.
Crisp body - drinks like an IPA. Not thick and syrupy. Finishes sweet, though like it's lacking enough bittering hops.
Nothing fundamentally wrong with the beer. Just not what I prefer in an Imperial IPA....or IPA. Needs to be more bitter.

Not retired, but retooled. Now 8.4% abv. Canned on 1/19/24. Quite worthy. Very drinkable, with well-disguised alcohol. Recommended.
