Named after the late North Park historian Don Covington, our cream ale is brewed in the classic style featuring a blend of 6-row and 2-row pale barley malt and a hefty dose of flaked maize. Covington is finished with a dash of German Hallertauer hops and offers a light body with a crisp, clean and refreshing finish

Appearance - The beer poured a straw yellow color with a white head crowning the glass.
Smell - There was a lot of lemon in the nose, but I can also detected the cracker malts.
Taste - There was a lot more lemon taste than I am used to in this style. The cracker malts were also present and just a touch of bitterness from hops. A nice drive finish left me wanting another drink.
Mouthfeel - There was some creaminess to the feel and modest carbonation.
Overall - This is not the Pilsner I am used to, but it is very enjoyable.

Clear golden amber with a modest foam in the snifter. Fairly sweet like a Blonde Ale. Pleasant nose of white wine, somehow. Tastes more alcoholic than the ABV would suggest. Inoffensive and quite drinkable, even a little bit crisp.
Sort of a woody aftertaste but above average for this style. A decent quaff for the light end of the brewpub spectrum. On tap at the brewery restaurant in San Diego.
