September 3rd, 2016 - North Park Brewing seems most enthusiastic about hoppy beers, but their darker brews are no slouch. The Imperial Porter has a strong profile, with a color and head that are identical to a fresh espresso. Malt dominates the nose, but the flavor leaves a little more room for complexity. A smooth, velvet mouth feel proffers both malty darkness and a tang for kick, with a medium aftertaste of cocoa powder in the follow through.
