Darkness Refined

October 18th, 2016 - Refined Darkness indeed, the stout is impenetrable below and has a solid inch of sandalwood colored foam on top. Even through this bubbly cap I can smell a rich bouquet of steak and heavy cream, like a peppercorn sauce, lifted by a burly malt bill. The mouthfeel is the standout feature, with an awesome smoothness and richness. But it's still lighter on the palate compared to the ABV, dancing effortlessly in spite of its own bulk and heavy handed licorice flavor.
