Thank you, Shane, Chris.
Jet black with flecks of coconut and no head , this looks like motor oil. The nose is insanely rich and yet, balanced with fruity coffee, cocoa , bitter dark chocolate, dried coconut licorice and anise, a blend that never gets old or unwelcome over the hour that I drank my pour. Rich, full bodied ,thick, but not excessively sweet or unctuous, this big beer has flavors of cocoa, bitter and earthy , to complement the spice of licorice and anise, an unexpected but tempering note in a so-called pastry stout. Gorgeous stuff. Quite a bitnof coconut is present, but instead of a sweet, fruity flavor, it lends a dry tannic and prominent accent. A remarkable feat of brewing.
