We gather here today in remembrance of tap lists across the Coast, and the favorite beer that used to grace them…West Coast IPA. We’ll remember it as crisp, dry, clear, & clean, perfectly palatable, and pleasantly bitter. How else could we describe this wonderfully thirst-quenching, crowd-pleaser-of-the-past? Perhaps, it’s double dry-hopped with Krush, Mosaic, and Citra, and offers aromas of oily pine, earthy resin, and a splash of dankness. Dare we say bold blueberry, citrus, strawberry, and even yellow watermelon will linger on the tastebuds? We sure will miss this one. Wait, did we have a mix-up? This beer isn’t Dead, it’s Just Sleeping!

Sweet and piney tropical hoppy, sweet Mosaic blueberry, and an orange citrus, piney-dank nose on this one! Taste follows with a super-clean and crisp, piney-hoppy dank bitter finish. Well done westie! Great batch!

Served in an imperial pint glass at the brewery.
Soft gold hue with persistent cap of white frothy head that leaves relatively thick lacing.
Aroma is very fruity with a lot of berry mixed with pine, orange, and pineapple.
Flavor is also very fruity with a lot of berry, touch of melon, pine, dank herbal week, pineapple and tangerine. Excellent array of flavors. Bitterness is balancing without being wimpy or overbearing.
Feel is dangerously drinkable with medium body but higher than usual carbonation to enhance drinkability coupled with a medium dry finish.
Not Dead, Just Sleeping is an exceptional version of the new wave WCIPA with a lot more fruitiness and more tempered bitterness. Delicious, balanced, with intense fruitiness and solid balancing bitterness, Very glad I got the chance to try it.
