Riggs Oktoberfest is a true “Festbier” style, which is crafted to emulate the beers that are served at the Oktoberfest in Munich. We prefer this modern, golden style lager over the darker “Märzen” style that is commonly made by American brewers. Here at Riggs, we take brewing German beers seriously. That’s why we don’t release this beer until exactly the right time of year. As always, we’re releasing this beer at the same time that the Oktoberfest starts in Munich. Honey graham cracker sweetness from the German Malts pairs perfectly with the floral contribution of Hallertau Hops. Riggs Oktoberfest finishes very dry, giving this beer an amazing drinkability. Prost!

I am actually preferring the Riggs Oktoberfest over Goldfinger's Oktberfest/Marzen. I am surprised and impressed as a Goldfinger supefan boy it takes a lot to persuade me. Riggs has succeeded here. This is a very traditional Oktoberfest and focuses on the malt profile. Great texture which tells you they have taken great care to make a great product.

A: Pours a brilliantly clear pale orange color. A dense two finger white head forms with good retention and plenty of lace left behind.
S: Malts up front with grains and lightly toasted, with baked bread. Simple but excellent. I really enjoy the malt character here.
T: Like the nose, a simple but really well done malt character. Grains, toasted malts, bread and a bit of caramel sweetness. A touch of earthy and spicy hops in the finish.
M/O: A light to medium body. Excellent carbonation that is superbly clean. So easy to drink. All day with this, just an excellent example of the style.
I am really loving this. Like always with Riggs, just really well made. I hope to find much more of this in my visit to Chambana.
