Light caramel color with a candied orange aroma.
The taste is a muddled candied orange/orange marmalade. It lacks the character of their Proving Ground as well as the hop kick.

Cask version at Magnolia. Very typical English style IPA with earthy hops (assuming fuggles/EKG) and low-to-mid bitterness. A good malt backbone, soft mouthfeel. Overall a little above average, but nothing special. I often prefer cask, but it didn't add muchmuch to this one, in my opinion.

Spudboy comes in behind their Proving Ground for Westcoast Ipa feel but as an English IPA the 2015 is very smooth a good amount of hops atypical English IPA and in that it excels.

On-tap at Magnolia
A: The pour is a hazed amber color with a layer of foam that is off-white and leaves some mild lacing.
S: A mild citrus aroma, certainly leaning more toward the floral side, like you might expect from an English IPA. The nose is pretty light, so it shows off the flaws. Seems to be some urine, and perhaps buttery.
T: The hops are floral and earthy, which is nice. A bitterness that works well enough for this kind of beer, which is quite bread forward overall. There are a few hints of citrus peel, though.
M: The body is medium and so is the carbonation.
D: Their IPAs just don't do much for me. Maybe because they're of the English variety, but I don't think that's the case...

Served in a pint glass at Magnolia.
Clear amber with a bit of carbonation and reasonably good head retention. Earthy hops and caramel aroma, but muted. Taste is similar to aroma, caramel up front, but with bitter earthy hop balance. Sweetness fades in middle with subtle hop bitterness taking over. Medium to slightly Med-heavy mouthfeel. A bit on the malty side for an IPA.

About a finger's worth of off white, soapy, foamy head. Color was a slightly hazy golden-yellow. Mouthfeel was medium with a peppery/hoppy tang on the tongue. Finish was quite dry and nicely refreshing. Nose had a now-familiar minty aspect. There must be a new variety of hops coming on to offset the shortage. Warming, the finish got that spearmint flavor.
