Filtered wheat with no head. Very bland and boring. Hard to tells it's a wheat. No citrus or fruit flavors. It was easy to drink but that's not saying much.

 

 

 

 

This pours a clear golden color with thin foam.

There’s a light aroma with what I can best describe as… “cornflakes” (per the words of one of my drinking companion). It’s not appealing.

There’s a malty corn flavor, like a hint of fresh, crisp corn. Thinly bodied, easy drinking, but it just doesn’t excite. Certainly “approachable,” tho it didn’t scratch my itch.

A: The pour is a very pale straw color with a white head to go with it.

S: There's some lemon zest up front which is accompanied by a slight tartness. Crappy wheat beer? I think so...A mild wheat bread flavor, pepper, and some butter.

T: A slightly tart/lemony flavor along with some sweet wheat. A mild bitterness to go with some grassy hop notes. There is a touch of breadiness and perhaps some water.

M: The body is light with a moderate level of carbonation.

D: Sour and buttery wheat beer isn't my cup of tea. I'll take a pass on this.

Too brightly yellow and not hazy at all. The taste and smell are both dominated by the cask conditioning; this beer is stripped of all its natural characteristics by the oak. It's not nearly carbonated enough for the style; another result of the cask.

Some beers work well with barrel aging and others do not. Wheat beer is too light and subtle to pull it off. A noble experiment, but I would not recommend it.

Had on cask at the Magnolia brewpub. Clear golden color, didn't have any haziness or anything despite the living yeast. The aroma and flavor only hinted at wheat, it was too off target for me to rate very highly. The best I can say is that the mouthfeel was nice and thick despite the low carbonation (which is expected from cask). Smooth texture but lacking in flavor.

Pours a dull, rusted gold in color. Creamy white head that recedes to a whispy sheet that leaves some condensed lacing.

Aroma is of malted wheats and grain with a whaft of alcohol. A slightly sweet caramel malt backbone. In general, rather faint aromatics.

Slightly astringent wheats; a few other adjunctory ingredients: rice, corn are present. There's an underlying creamy sweetness followed by a burnt, vegetable bitterness that lingers well into the aftertaste.

Light bodied; gritty and a little powdery on the palate.

Pretty much your typical version of the style; nothing interesting about this one, and even slightly unpleasant at times.

Filtered thin gold body -- no head and an imperceptible nose.

Potent but mellow candied wheat flavor -- definitely the most exciting part of this otherwise surprisingly bland brew. Definitely delicious focused wheat malts though. Mild to medium sweetness. Clean, funky wheat finish.

Is this a British style wheat? Definitely more American than mainland.

When asked if this was a hefeweizen, the bartender lady said, yes. Ah well, at least I didn't get a lemon wedge.

This beer pours a crystal clear yellow color with very little head. Aroma is virtually absent. Wheatiness is displayed prominently with only a hint of any fruitiness. Very clean. Grainy malt in the finish. No hop bitterness.

Overall: This is very good for the style. A nice clean ale that highlights the wheat.

Tap, Magnolia Pub and brewery- grainy, oats, tasted stale and didn’t have much flavour, crisp, not so good. Thats all i can say, this beer wasn't so good. However, i do think it is this style aswell, American wheats suck generally this was no excpetion.

Had this from cask on Haight St. This beer is very light, comes out a cloudy golden color with a small, light head. The beer smells of spice, most likely the corriander mentioned on the beer list. This coriander works well with the sweetness of the wheat; however, the beer is a bit harsh on the mouth. I recommend many of Magnolia's brews over this one; however, it's a good offering.
