On tap at Blue Palms
Look: Dark brown with a red hue to it. No head and no lace
Smell: Not a lot at all going on. Very light note of cinnamon and spice
Taste: Again pretty boring notes of nutmeg and cinnamon and a slight nuttiness
Mouthfeel: Medium body and medium carbonation and just a tad dry
Overall: Another winter welcome that just missed the mark for me. Not very impressed with any of aspect of the beer

On tap at Blue Palms Brewhouse in Los Angeles, CA as part of their Jingle Bell Jubilee.
Pours a clear dark brown with a 1/2 inch tan head that settles to a film on the top of the beer. Small streaks of lace slide back down into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is of malt, fruit, and toasted nuts. Taste is of toasted malt, toasted nuts (walnuts, hazelnuts), and some mild fruit flavors. There is a nice toasty bitterness that lingers on the palate after each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp but slightly sticky mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good Winter warmer with a very nice nutty flavor that I really enjoyed.

On-tap at Magnolia
The pour is a very murky dark amber in color with a finger of off-white head. Super sweet, very sugary, maybe some dark fruits (mostly raisins). A little spice, too. The flavor is raisins, light booze, and heavy on the sugar and caramel. Just way too sweet for its own good.

12/26/06- Had on cask at the Toronado in San Francisco, CA.
Presentation- From the hand pump cask into a standard pint glass.
Appearance- Deep mahagoney in color. No real head, just a light rim. Faint lacing left.
Smell- Clove and ground cinnimon. Not really an outward scent. Nice but a very light aroma.
Taste- Yummy mixture of flavors. Lots of sweet malt with festive clove and nutmeg spiced tastes. Seems a touch hopped up as well. Flavors meld extremely well.
Mouthfeel- It's cask, so it's hard for it not to be perfect in my mind. The lightest touch of carbonation and very smooth.
Drinkability- Just on flavor and mouthfeel, this is a winner to me. Can you say sessionable winter brew?

This arrived as a fairly dark color with a minor head. The lacing is present but also minor.
The smell is lightly spiced and fruity. The taste has distinctive layers of full flavor, including spice, fruit, malt, and hops. The substantial alcohol content is not the least bit detectable during consumption.
It's very tasty and very drinkable. Fantastic.
