My first from these guys, right from the tap in the deads old hood, nostalgia here is huge. This is the dry hopped edition with gargoyle, a new Cali breed. Mostly clear golden orange brew, heady and lacy in my globe. Nose of grassy funky hops, short of fruity but getting almost like white wine for a minute there. Grain is two row from what I can tell, and yeast is conventional. The wet hops on this make it special and new. A profile not way off from the also newer Belma variety, but more hay character here and a white peach fruitiness with champagne in the finish. Not bitter in the least. Almost too much body, almost filling, but fluffy still in feel. Great start to a week in Cali!
