Fresh batch recommended by the bartenders.
pours a light hazy golden tone, excellent carbonation and retains a head after several minutes.
smells of caramunich malt, bread, light floral notes, slight bitter ness, my guess is fuggles hops.
pretty dominant on the biscuit/ caramunich malt. I do detect a slight diacetyl character that goes nicely with the ready character.
flavor is sweet/ spicy.bready malt meets light pepper character, some bitterimg hops and finishes slightly yeasty.
The mouth feel is good, the carbonation cleans up the somewhat sweet bready character of the beer.
overall enjoyable but not my first choice at magnolias.

I meant to order this on-cask, but oh well. Listed at 20 IBUs.

Served in a 20oz. nonic.

Appearance: Vibrant orange-copper body shows gentle carbonation within. Excellent clarity. The small, white, bubbly crown keeps up for the entire session. Head is pretty clean and doesn't drag any lacing.

Smell: Sweet, grainy malts with a touch of caramel.

Taste: Very similar to the smell with added bitterness in the finish from the barley. Tastes like a glazed loaf of bread. Hardly any hop character, as expected.

Mouthfeel: Malty, light-bodied, and very easy-going. Carbonation is such that it produces a gentle crisp ride. Mild malty aftertaste.

Drinkability: This was my first stab at a true bitter, and the easy-drinking, mellow reputation rang true. Mild was the name of the game with this one. Enjoyable and highly drinkable, but I'd prefer something a little more exciting.
