Cask version. Just went on. ABV up to 6.9%.
A: Pours a clear copperish orange with a half-inch white head which fades to the rim leaving trace lace.
N: Whopping grapefruit citrus just dripping wet with dank resiny weed. Welcome to the Haight my friend.
T: Spicy hop burn, floral citrus zest, fresh bud. Just squeezed this morning. Mild pine and resiny oils.
M: Medium body and carbonation, although the cask does introduce a nice smoothness. Spicy hop finish.
O: This is a treat and not to be missed. Come and get it.

I’m working on a continuing education degree in hop characteristics. Today’s lesson: simcoe!
I’m not sure what the base beer for the Magnolia wet hop series is but this one has just an absolutely wonderful floral hop aroma to it, with some citrus notes. Grapefruit? Surprisingly chewy, piney flavor and a big chewy finish. Wow. Like a double IPA without the viscosity.
