A nutty brown, a change of pace. Some toasted malt, bitterness tasted though only 35 IBU. More demonstration of the brewmaster's skills, as opposed to merely filling in the line, this is quality. Hoppy, carmel, a tad of vanilla from some wood? Very brown colour. Medium bodied.

Chestnut colored like dark iced tea. A light brown foamy head tops the glass, but recedes quickly. Aroma is low, but consists of sweet malts, plus some caramel and toffee. Flavor is very even and well-balanced. Moderate maltiness, not too sweet, with hints of light brown sugar, and just a bit of rich molasses in the finish. Excellent representation of the style. I used to drink a lot of brown ales, and this one reminds how great they can be. This is a very good beer.
