Pours a dark, red color with a two-finger head that eagerly fades down to leave some lacing.

Spicy rye compliments the citrus of the west coast hops. Very inviting to the palate,

Whoa! Packed with flavor that grabs you by the hoo-hoo and never let's up. Spicy, piney with a medium-dry finish.

Dry and full of lingering rye and citrus. Marvelous.

I enjoy this example. Well worth a try, especially for the fan of rye beers.

sampled, draft, on the day of its release and just now getting to my notes...

aroma: smells like amarillo to me [despite being an all warrior beer - warrior doesn't seem to come through much until you push the envelope into the higher bitterness range] - crazy spicy floral character. sweet malt coming through.
ap: reddish brown hue - amber, perfect lacing and poured very well by my bartender, kenny. dropped brite to john's satisfaction...
taste: dry hopped [or late hopped] to heck. citrus, pine, clean..definitely a good execution of water treatment... not too dry but just the right amount of sulfate...
mouth: good finish - nice balance of malt.
D: leaves you wanting more..
another fine beer from the alchemist...can't wait to see what's next.

I was bummed that this brew was not going to be tapped until Monday, but beer karma worked it's magic and they kicked another beer early, so in comes this fine brew.
Arrived a beautiful rust color, slightly cloudy with a full finger of creamy tan head...lacing had great cling. Served just slightly chilled, so I had no time to kill before delving right into this one.
Aromas filled w/ a hefty dose of hops and plenty of malt to give it a somewhat sweet scent.
The taste was fantastic...a great hop profile but so much of the rye malt comes out in this one. The bitterness was so perfect for this style...so clean in it's finish.
Mouthfeel was medium bodied and very refreshing...I could not come to ordering anything else but this one, although I did enjoy a few swigs of my wife's IPA.
Needless to say, definitely a session beer for me.
For a great cause too, as they donate $1 from every pint purchased to a non-profit organization working to restore Waterbury's historic train station.
