Off the tap with my lovely friend L, who's panties always were worth dropping, this beer was a murky, mahogany color with a maroon tinted head. The two fingers of foam retained excellently as a tight cap and left scattered lacing. The aroma was of floral hops, hibiscus flower and some citrus. The flavors were rather odd, tangy and tart citrus hops, sweet plums and a lemony sourness, especially at the end when the hops bit at my palate. The malt profile struck me as a little too light for as much hop action was going on. It definitely had an interesting sweet and sour balance that gave it a weirdly sessionable quality (drop them drawers baby!). The mouthfeel was nice and smooth, the body medium and the carbonation perfect.

Poured into a pint glass at the Alchemist.

A- Nice hazy copper red. Two fingers worth of off-white head formed.

S- Reminded of a floral bouquet mixed with piney aromas. Very well done.

T- Something was just a little off on the taste with this one. I think the addition of hibiscus may have made this a little too sweet and acidic, giving it a somewhat sour finish that I really wasn't expecting.

M- Medium bodied with some carbonation.

D- No matter how much I wanted to drink this one, I simply could not put this one down.

Overall, I think this beer just didn't appeal to me. I know I did not have a bad beer because there were several others around me, who were drinking this beer and raving about it. This simply might be the case of where "to each his own" may apply.

Color: pours a hazy red color with a fluffy head.

Aroma: floral hop kick with a good hint of hibiscus in the nose

Taste: floral and grassy hops greet the tongue complimented by the grapefruit like flavor of the hibiscus flowers.

Mouthfeel: floral hops and hibiscus linger.

Highly drinkable take on an ipa. Smooth and refreshing.
