Appearance: Pours pitch black with a one finger beige head; leggy with a web of lacing
Smell: The oak in the aroma dominates, with chocolate and caramel tones supporting; the Bourbon complements
Taste: Chocolate forward with a hint of caramel sweetness while the oak detected in the aroma, adds a dry element underneath; modest Bourbon flavors complement, after the swallow, with a nice blend of all the elements in the finish
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with moderate carbonation; somewhat creamy
Overall: This stout has a lot going for it, from the mouthfeel to the balanced flavors to the well hidden ABV

16 oz. can.
Canned 10/21/20.
Moderate pour yields a one inch mocha head over a black body with nice, sticky lacing. Nose of dark malt, chocolate malt, dark fruit, and bourbon. Taste follows nose but kicks it up a notch with all kinds of dark fruit coming forward bringing the sweet bourbon barrel notes (caramel, slight vanilla) with it. Flavors of chocolate covered cherries are noted and savored. Finish of milk chocolate and caramel on the tongue as well as hints of bourbon and oak. Very nice, almost velvety feel, I don't want it to stop. Overall, if you can find one; grab it and you'll be highly rewarded.
Cheers to my friend Crystal Stokes, the artist, and all the alchemists at The Alchemist!!!
