16 oz can.
Pours a cloudy pale gold color with a monstrous sudsy head that is eggshell white. Pretty good retention and lacing. Clingy cobwebs stick to the glass as the head dissipates into a soapy puck of foam.
Very strong aromas of stone fruit, mango, pineapple, freshly mixed berries and passion fruit. There's a hint of orange and grapefruit with a fair bit of dank and herbal hops. Nice balance.
The flavor follows the nose: Peach and apricot up front, as well as some blueberries, strawberries and passion fruit. A little mango and pineapple. Finishes citrusy, rindy, and bitter, with a ton of dank, earthy hops coming through. Very herbal throughout. The grainy malt is subtly chilling in the back, but he there.
The feel is pretty much on point for Alchemist IPA's: Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Exceptionally creamy and smooth. Absurdly easy to quaff.
I'm glad I finally got to try another Skadoosh. It's been awhile. McKenzie is a new hop variety that I had never heard of before this beer, but the balance of bitter citrus and sweet tropical notes is unmistakable. The Alchemist once again proving they are not a one-note brewery. Hope they do more with these hops in the future.
