Had this on cask today at the Alchemist with my buddy. A big thanks to Kenny for practically having one poured for me a moment after I walked into the bar.
Appearance: Pours a cloudy fender stratocaster vintage sunburst orange to light amber with radiant honey streaks and a 3 finger off white hop tinged crown that displays good retention and lace.
Smell: Loads of fresh hoppy goodness with just slightly less bitterness than the tap version but much stronger aroma notes of orange, grapefruit, and grassy herbs.
Taste: Same as nose but with the tiniest supporting bit of caramel malt.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
Drinkability: Not as sessionable as the regular cask version or the standard tap version. While the hop aroma was stronger it seemed a bit raw. A little less balanced than the regular cask / regular tap version IMHO but glad to have tried this special brew on a special weekend (VT Brewers Weekend 2011).
