Had on tap at the brewery.
On arrival 1.5 fingers of bone white head sat on top of a very hazy, yellow body. Lacing tries to form but sags down. Head dissipates down to a solid ring, but not much else.
Aroma is reminiscent of a phenolic hefeweizen. Interesting, but not quite belgian. Super dry and slightly funky.
Taste us again super dry, and reminiscent of a phenolic hefeweizen. There is a fruity note that brings an almost wine like finish, that is slightly tart. Decently malty in the finish which I appreciate.
Feel is dry, but a bit heavy for the style, especially considering the relatively low carbonation. Very malty in the finish which is quite long.
Overall, this is not a true saison. Perhaps it resembles an actual farmhouse ale somewhere, but it's not like anything I've tried. Makes me thing belgian hefe.
