Poured into a pint glass from a can. This brewery makes pretty good beer overall. This Marzen/Octoberfest is a bit sweet for my taste (balance of flavors is a bit off), but it is refreshing, easy drinking, and is quite malty. Would not probably buy again, but it isn't bad.

Looks a little on the light side for the style, dark gold/light amber. Dense white head that has astounding retention. After 10 min with half the beer left, there was still an inch of head.
Strong smell of crackers, dark bread, graham crackers.
Tastes much like it smells. The malts are perfect. I almost didn’t buy this because of the high abv, I figured it would be too sweet. So glad I got it. I can’t think of anything I’d want them to change. Most US brewer overdo the hops on Marzen’s, this one doesn’t.
They call it a festbier on the can, which it’s definitely not. A real festbier would be a lot lower on the abv.
I prefer my Oktoberfest/Festbier between 5.5 and 6%. I’ve found that most above 6% get out of balance and too sweet. This is an exception.

As fast as Octoberfest beers go, this is a pretty good one, exponent not made in Germany.
Poured from a can into a shaker pint. Beautiful pour with a thick cream head and excellent lacing. Caramel and biscuit smell and taste. A bit of honey. Pleasant full feel. I would buy this again.

12 oz. can poured into craft beer glass from Libbey set (wide-mouthed stick)
L: clear amber, lots of brown in it to make it close to copper; pushes up small head of offwhite foam, about 1/3-inch tall; no stick or lace
S: toasted grain, toffee, earthy hops; as it warms the malt aromas sweeten into peach, toasted peach, peach/apricot kolache or pie, fruitcake
T: classic toasted malt with an earthy hop bite; the malt provides a hint of sweetness, molasses or burnt brown sugar; the earthy middle dominates the flavor
F: almost a middleweight with plenty of carbonation
O: a solid example of the style, nothing out of bounds or off with a strong dirt-hop presence
