Our latest fruited IPA, Punk Tacos was brewed with herbal and floral Mosaic and Pacifica hops, which we complemented with 336 pounds of equally herbal and cordial-esque blackcurrant puree. The resulting beer has a light acidity from the fruit that brightens the hops' characteristics. With 4.4 pounds of hops per barrel, Punk Tacos has a bit of hop bitterness and a dry, tannic finish.

Poured from crowler can into glass. Fill date marked as '7-19(2018)'.
Murky, red currant colored body. Minimal head, with just a sliver of a ring. No lacing.
Lots of herbal hops in the aroma, also some floral hops. Heavy tannins from the currant puree. Kind of funky smelling.
Taste of heavy tannins, which allow the herbal and floral hops to come forward and express. There is a kind of sour funk abounding. No bitterness.
Medium to fuller mouth feel. A mix of juicy and dry.
Not quite as dark as beet juice, and duller than cherry juice. Kind of looks like a mixed vegetable blender drink. The tannins are there to the point of sourness. Certainly a different approach to an IPA, but the brewer does call this "fruited". Has a real balance and dichotomy of tastes between the tannic fruit and the brighter hops. Certainly different but I would buy again.
