I was not familiar with the District of Columbia beer scene so I called this store to find out if I could purchase D.C. brewed beers there, and was assured that the store had a wide selection of such beers. Finding this corner store was not difficult. Great to find out that I could pick singles from the packs sitting on the shelves. The store is not that big in square footage but the selection is dedicated to craft and well curated. Extremely helpful and friendly staff made my short stay in D.C. a winning one.

Rarely do stores hit this spot. Craft Beer Cellar hit my spot.
I study train stations and was researching an update on DC's Union Station. And the store in the lower level there closed (as lots of retail has in train stations nationwide.) So, I walked two blocks to Craft Beer Cellar and I scored nine local brewers I had not had yet. Call it a treasure trove of brews that I ordinarily would not see.

Vibe-- I like how H Street is redeveloping. And this store begins the revitalized area. All round good.
Quality -- Young brewers (most of these were under five years) rarely can compete in my preference, the Belgian-inspireds.
Service was excellent. Tthe two staff were helpful and knowledgeable.
Selection of local brews was excellent also. (Nine brewers new-to-me is huge.)

Would I return? Craft Beer Cellar would be hard to top for only three days in DC.

Not an overly large space, but it is packed floor to ceiling, and organized very well too. I had an hour to kill at Union Station, and it was a short enough walk to pick up a few things before I got on the bus. Reasonable prices and helpful staff. Nice selection of local and regional breweries.

A decent walk from the Metro station. But a nice street with a very cool craft vibe. Very attentive staff who asked if I was looking for anything specific and went out of their way to be helpful when I asked about local beers. Tons of local beer, most importantly, they are fresh. Many stores I stopped by in DC had lots of beer, but they were more than out of code. They're fresh, and the selection is phenomenal. Tons of MD, DC and NoVA craft beer, but also a nice selection of imports and distributed craft beer from elsewhere including Allagash, Firestone Walker and Funky Buddha. I came back twice to stock up on beer during the 2 weeks I was in DC. I highly recommend this as the bottleshop to go to in DC if you are visiting.

Visited in 2016 when they were still finding their footing, but it's clear that they hit their stride in 2017. As Grover37 said, "This is the best beer store in DC these days, and it's not really close."

I'm a convert through and through and as of right now CBC has the DC beer nerd market cornered.

This is the best beer store in DC these days, and it's not really close. They get great new stuff consistently and are very friendly and helpful (sometimes overly so). Highly recommended.

Decent selection with some hidden gems that probably don't last too long on the shelves. Worth a visit if one is visiting the museums, as it is not too far afoot.

Seemed like a pretty good selection, although not compared to most bottle shops that I frequent in SoCal. They had 120 min IPA, Helldorado, and a few other good options. Overall, it's a pretty good selection, but nothing mind blowing.

Great location and very good selaction. Want to see this place thrive, but customer service should be a priority. No eye-contact...no greeting...no sense of engagement.
