2 Batches of Russian imperial stout - each brewed with oats and chocolate were each aged in different barrels. The first batch was aged in Heaven Hill Bourbon barrels. The 2nd was aged in bourbon barrels that we previously aged Vermont maple syrup in. These batches were blended for a bourbon, thick , sweet, maple experience! Let it warm to 50* before drinking to appreciate all the different flavors!

A pint can poured into a pint beer glass. A dark black/amber pour with a dark foamy head to match. Surprisingly the lacing is little.
Dark roasted caramelized barley malt dominates. The double bourbon barrel flavors add much complexity. Caramel, toffee, coffee, molasses, cocoa nibs, vanilla, chocolate liqueur flavors come to mind.
An outstanding representation of the style.

Outstanding! Beautifully well rounded maple bourbon barreled brew. Chocolate extremely well integrated. Poured a very nice tan head that understandably dissolved at 13%. Otherwise deep dark rich stout with a slender tan halo. Nose is rich with welcoming dark fruit, vanilla and chocolate. Taste mirrors but really brings the barrel wood, malt and maple. So well merged; all points combined into a delicious medium roasty RIS with extremely well added adjuncts from barrel, maple and then a dense supportive chocolate. Wow. Then a super velvety body with just the right amount of carbonation slightly lightening on the tongue.
Really wow. This really takes me back to some of the original and VERY best BBA Imp stouts that employed maple and chocolate. A very special brew. At least to this old guy. So wish I would have bought more ate Perfect Pour.
(Clearly after this and 9th Anniversary brew…am LONG overdue visiting this brewery/ brewers. Exceptionally good brewing and barreling!

5 oz pour at Lures Bar & Grille in a mini-tulip glass. Aroma and flavor feature dark roasted malts, bourbon, sweet vanilla, caramel, light maple, and semi-sweet chocolate (in other words, sweet but not cloying). Mouthfeel is moderately carbonated, thick, and full-bodied. Overall an above average BA imperial stout.

Growler into pint glass. Pours an inky black with a substantial tan head. Initial impression is chocolate, bourbon, dark fruits, and maple - just as advertised. Improves with temperature, so let it sit a while. Mouthfeel is velvety smooth and thick; alcohol is well hidden. Finish is the reverse of the first taste: bourbon, then chocolate, then lingering maple syrup and dark fruits. Overall, a very enjoyable RIS. Quite potent.

Wonderful! A nice looking imperial stout. Chocolate color with a small head without any lacing. Soft on the nose with a hint of maple and bourbon. The taste is fantastic. The double barrel blend of aged bourbon barrels and maple bourbon barrels really is outstanding. A wonderful combination of maple and bourbon flavors with a super smooth feel especially considering the 13.1% ABV.
