Dark Lager brewed with flavorful German base and munich malts as well as a touch of blackprinz malt to impart a smooth flavor along with its black color. Very lightly hopped with all German hops.

This pours a big thick, oatmeal colored head on top of a dark brown body with hints of baker's chocolate and long grained malt in the nose. Light in body but chewy with coffee and fudge notes that give this a solid amount of character. A little late hop presence is also present. Definitely worth a try if you like the style.

12 oz can
pours almost black in color, tan colored head. aroma and taste seem to straddle the line between a dunkel lager and a schwarzbier. a little bready, but also a bit of mild roast and cocoa notes. thin to medium bodied.

One of my favorite beers out of thousands tried. I sincerely hope they will bring this one back, because although it is a little niche, I can't think of a better session beer for stout lovers.
The fact that they were able to preserve all the notes (chocolate, malt, espresso) of a top-tier stout with only 5.2% abv is astonishing. Only downside is that too true to its name, it definitely has the mouthfeel of a lager. The amount of flavor they packed into this thing is incredible. At the time of this review it is still in stores, so definitely give it a try before it's gone!
