Poured into a 16 oz Snulip glass not sure when it was canned. Pours a very attractive ruby red with a 2 finger off white head that leaves some thin wisps of lace with solid retention. 4.5
Smell is dates, Oaked vanilla, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, and hints of booze. 4
Taste follows loaded with dark fruit dates, plum, oaked vanilla, toffee, caramel, and a little alcohol but it is 11%. 4
Mouthfeel is pretty big, a tad dry, not overly carbonated as I would expect, and at 11% ABV it goes down easy enough but rather a sipper. 4
Overall I should have saved this for Fall or winter, not a warm summer night but still a very nice American Barleywine that I am savoring. 4
