So, full disclosure: my attraction to this one was almost entirely on its can art design. The art is completely ripped off from Final Fantasy VII, which is an iconic Playstation 1 game from my glory days. Pale and hazy appearance, as in an NEIPA. Sturdy head. Nose is wispy and bread themed with a little funk.
Definitely fits the NE profile, with that citrus and tropical haze sitting right on top of the thinner saltine based note. Grapefruit rind is one of my lasting impressions. Very little hint of the eight plus percent at all. Quite inpressive. Not sure what the Cloud with giant sword on his back as he stares menacingly at a giant machine connection is, but this is a worthwhile anniversary beer for anyone.
