Appearance:
Double Promise, unironically, looks quite promising: A mellow, milky yellow—like sunlight caught in frosted glass—accumulates a thin layer of snow-flurry foam, forming the head.

Bouquet:
Mellow, honey cream pineapple on flatbread, followed by an extremely distant echo of earthy hops and tropical flowers. Over time, those echoes gain amplitude.

Feel:
Soft and thick. Medium carbonation, muted by the heft, gives the texture a fuzzy, cotton-like friction. There’s a quick blip of booze warmth in the linger but you have to be astute to notice.

Taste:
Here’s where the promise is delivered: a double wallop of herbal, mosaic hops smoothed by thick, white bread malts. A nibble of honey cream pineapple materializes here and there, gaining consistency as the ale breathes. Eventually, lush, grassy hops will entirely overtake the palate.

Overall:
I’d hoped for greater complexity on the palate, e.g., more fruit or floral flavor, but you can’t argue with good balance. Simple yet tasty.
