A: Pours a clear dark chestnut brown in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and moderate copper + ruby red colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense fizzy foamy tan head that slowly reduces to a large patch of very thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of toasted, bready, nutty, and caramel malts with a hint of sweetness and light aromas of earthy + spicy hops.
T: Upfront there is a moderate flavor of toasted, bready, nutty, and caramel malts with a hint of caramel sweetness. Light flavors of mineral + fruity (apple) yeast. That is followed by light to moderate flavors of earthy + spicy hops which impart a light amount of bitterness which lingers slightly leaving some nutty malt flavors lingering.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and enjoyable. A nice example of the style and I would definitely have this one again.
