a rotating ipa series apparently, this one is mosaic and its good, simple beer, almost on the edge of pale ale with the fuller grain flavor from some quality northwestern malt from skagit valley balancing out the hops, and of course with the only moderate bitterness, i liked this a lot. good attention to detail here, water chemistry is right on, the ferment is clean and this is dry and tidy there, and the proportions are nice, just a basic recipe that lets good ingredients shine, not overly dry hopped and without any of that sometimes catty mosaic quality. instead its clean tangerine and pineapple on top of the baked graham crackery malt base, slightly fuller bodied in the middle but bright the whole way and with high carbonation making it move. its cool that they used this grain for this, especially in a style where the malt character seems to be going away more and more these days, this beer is really enhanced by it. mosaic is fresh, feel is soft, and this ends up real drinkable. a crowd pleasing ipa, fans of any type of ipa should dig this, its very well made beer without trying to do too much. i was really impressed with yachats, cool beers, fun spot, great food, well worth a visit when on the coast! would be curious to try other iterations from this series...

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
