Decanted from a 16 oz (473 ml) can into a custom taster pint; canned 10/25/19, code NELSON.
A: Pours a cloudy, golden orange color (think aged brass) with a less than one inch, white head, rim retention, but some thin rings of lacing.
S: Aroma of passion fruit, pineapple, grapefruit, and caramel predominate with maybe a little nectarine and a pine note.
T: Semisweet. Palate a blend of the nose with much more pine. Medium bitterness creates a solid composition of elements without necessarily providing balance.
M: Medium bodied with low to moderate carbonation.
O: A solid and flavorful AIIPA. I have to say I like the way the elements play off against each without necessarily setting "in balance."

Lacks the juiciness of most NE IPAs. On the bitter end for sure. I love the flavor of Nelson Sauvin hops, so that carries this beer. Flavors of lemon, white wine, and a tart grassiness on the back end.

I’m a fan of Decadent’s novelty IPAs but I was disappointed with this more conventional Nelson dry-hopped DIPA. Lacks the body and depth of a DIPA—it felt and tasted more like a Bret IPA. Dry champagne-like feel and smell. Not one I’m likely to buy again.

A: The beer is very hazy yellow in color. It poured with a short white head that faded away, leaving just a minuscule ring of white bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of gooseberries and green grapes are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has flavors of gooseberries along with hints of green grapes. There is a slight bit of sourness.
M: It feels nearly medium-bodied and a bit juicy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer does a very good job at showcasing the aromas and flavors of the Nelson Sauvin hops. It feels lighter in body compared to other Imperial IPAs and also does a very good job at hiding any traces of alcohol from the taste.

Purchase at Decadent Ales. Can date is 4-4-19. Poured into a “can” glass. Honey/orange colored. Hazy. Nice frothy head. No retention. Moderate lacing. Notes of white grapes, Sauvion Blanc, clement melon. And grass. Flavors of gooseberry, passion fruit, marginal yeast flavor reminiscent to a brut. A touch on lemon lingering underneath it all. Mouthfeel soft, juicy, slick, fine carbonation, and a clean finish
