Dark amber, beautiful and abundant beige foam.
Malt starting smell, some yeast, characterizing, but not overwhelming. Fresh hop.
Light fruity notes (peach, apricot, something tropical) and orange jam. Then belgian yeast, with spicy notes.
Hints of burnt camel and candy sugar.
Very good balance overall, in the aftertaste, too, between fruitiness, yeast. And the dry finish.

This Belgian take an amber ale is beyond smooth -- the texture is like liquid silk, and I loved it! Other attributes were all delightful, except for the smell lacking a bit of something. Overall a great amber ale though!

Chalice at Little Delirium in Brussels
A-served with a thick finger of tight white head. Cloudy and light amber in color. The head quickly breaks down to a thin layer and is sticky.
S-Floral hops, sweet cookie malt and some yeast
T-much as the aroma. A nice balance of malt first with plenty of hop spiciness with a touch of yeast.
M-nice malt body with a hint of creaminess that finishes with a spicy zingy hop bite. Just a bit of alcohol burn as it warms.
O-a very good begin pale ale that is a bit heavier on the hops than other BPA.

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle.

The beer pours an orange-yellow color with a white head. The aroma is full of bread and biscuit malt, with a little bit of sugar. The flavor is very similar. I get a lot of very dry pilsner-style malt, as well as some Belgian yeast. There is not real hop character in the flavor. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle into a goblet.

A - Beer is slightly cloudy and is light amber in color with a serious orange hue. The head is very impressive, piling several inches high on initial pour, but not out of control. It is a light tan color, thick and creamy, and fades to a dollop of meringue-like foam in the glass with tons of lacing.

S - This beer smells more American than Belgian. It has an assertive hop nose that seems to be of an American Northwest variety. When first poured, I detected a hint of "farmhouse" funk in the background, but it faded away. Only the faintest malt aromas, and no yeast.

T - The taste is more balanced than the aroma. I get equal parts nutty/warm grainy malt and crisp "green" Northwestern hops. The perceived bitterness level is very high (especially for a Belgian ale). The finish is dry but the hop burn lingers and there may be some spice in there also.

M - Medium body. Some mouth-coating sweetness, but still fairly dry in the end. The hops bitterness is searingly hot, but fresh and clean. No alcohol or yeast notes detected.

O - Although called a Belgian Pale Ale in BA, I'd consider this an IPA any red-blooded American brewer would be proud of. It has a very assertive hop character, but still has more malt to balance than many examples. Well done!
