A:
Pours a ruddy copper that is fairly clear with two fingers of beige foam insulation head that settles slowly to a film lacing no lacing. (4)
S:
Meaty, raw, mushy cereals, toasted malts and a spicy hop zip. (3.75)
T:
Peppery toasted malt, saw dust, hard water, some light malt sweetness comes through in the middle a wave of pungent, herbal hops close it out. (3.75)
M:
Medium bodied and carbonation that cliffs up in your mouth. Drinkable and refreshing-yet-filling. (3.75)
O:
This is a good beer.
I have never rated a steam beer before as far as I know and have only had a couple and this one tastes like what I expected so that's a good sign.
Rich cereals and meaty malt feel in an otherwise relative "light"-feeling beer. It looks nice and smells nice. The flavor is a good balance between layers of malt and spicy/bruised herbs/basil-like hops.
Nice beer. I'd have it again. Maybe when it's hot out again. (3.75)
