2 12oz cans into a tall glass. No freshness dating.

Looks very good, dark brown body, strong creamy head, rings of lacing.

Unfortunately it's all downhill after that. Aroma is quite acidic, and the taste and finish is even stronger so.

Could be an old beer, but Bonn doesn't date their cans, even though the can encourages us to "drink fresh".

Reviews on BA are quite positive, though this problem crops up a lot on UT.

As an Englishman, this was very disappointing. Heading for the drain...

Pours a chestnut brown color with over a finger of beige head. The nose has a bready maltiness that punches well above its abv weight. The flavor follows the nose but it's definitely reminiscent of the style - mild.

Big flavor from this low abv beer. My favorite from Bonn Place. I prefer draft or cask versions over nitro, but all three are solid.

my first ever beer from these guys and its truly excellent, a fantastic example of the style, especially from an american brewer, and a dark beer i could just drink all day long, any time of year, smooth and not as minimal as it should be for this low abv, more beer should exist like this in this country, im stoked on it, and so were my friends! the color is a deep brown on this with some redder edges, deep even for the style, with a nice head on it too, airy and lasting. the aroma is toasted but not as deep as it looks, with a tobacco leaf layer, some english crystal sweetness for a flash, bran or dark bread, and a noteworthy english ale yeast profile, clean but classic, super appealing to me, obviously well refined, and just a little more robust on the dark grains than a lot of these ever go. there is a great taste here from the yeast, old worldy but so professionally done, understood, and good. carbonation is high, feel is light for a dark beer, but its not thin with this lower abv. notes of leather and chocolate and unbleached whole wheat flour at the end, earthy and just fantastic, oddly complex for a simple beer, and one i want to drink dozens of. they nailed this. great first impression of bonn place for me! love the style, and the execution here is gold.

On nitro @ Bonn Place Brewing Co. in Bethlehem, PA.

Deep brown almost black color with a creamy light tan head. Cool cascading effect from the nitro. Rings of lace all the way down the glass. Light roasted malt and chocolate aroma but it gets dumbed down a bit by the nitro. Dark tea flavor (think Earl Grey or English breakfast) with more chocolate and roast. No hop presence. Smooth and creamy feel, aided by the nitro. Medium bodied. Tasty stuff. I'd like to have this one on cask some time or just on the regular tap, but it was cool to try a Mild on nitro. It almost gave a stout-like feel to it.

Nitro at the brewery

Big rich creamy nitro head, dark brown

Nose nitro, sweet toffee, biscuity, coffee, hint chocolate

Taste sweet candy toffee, biscuity, toasted grain, brown malt, touch chocolate and coffee, typical nitro creamy flavor mixed in, touch of bitterness

Mouth is med to lighter bod, creamy nitro

Overall petty nice for the style, nitro overpowers a bit, but otherwise nice
