Pours a dark brown color into narrow, tapered pint glass and is almost Reminiscent in color to some brown ales I’ve had. Some lacing is present around the glass as I sip. The beer is a little cloudier than it should be if we’re going true to style.
Smells of biscuity malts and clean, crisp lager.
Tastes initially sweet, and slowly moves to pleasantly bitter. Notes of toffee, caramel, baked bread. Very brown ale ish, but also has characteristics of a crisp lager. Perhaps that is what they were going for?
Mouthfeel is very smooth. Goes down super easy, too easy. Does not drink like a 6.9% beer. Slick on the palate and not harsh at all on the tongue. I could crush a 6 pack of this on a fall day no problem.
Overall a delicious beer, that’s not 100% true to style, but is perfect for fall weather. I would drink this with Thanksgiving Dinner.
Cheers!
