really awesome beer, i love galaxy hops, especially in a dry bretty setting like this, so i love this beer. meager however, on its own, is one of, if not the very best beers these guys are making right now, i love it as it is, and im not sure i would have messed with it, as much as i like this, even as a one off. the galaxy is hugely forward in this, breaking up the mellow balance of the rustic dry grain and the funky brett, its super tropical and juicy, and seems to cover up some funk in favor of tartness in the flavor, this seems sourer than the original, a sort of compounding thing that carries on all through it. its still wild and saison-esque and interesting on the yeast side, but the delicate uniqueness has been compromised. the galaxy is green and fresh and strong, white wine notes along with it, white peach and lemongrass too, its sexy, but its also totally new school where the original could have come from one of the old world saison producers, which added a certain sex appeal for me, since so many try and so few succeed at that here in the states. great beer, summery and drinkable and full of hoppy goodness, but nothing can touch the original for me!
