From a 12oz can. Best by 06/04/2021. Consumed on 03/10/2026. This beer is way past its best by date, and my review may refect that.

This is a super murky and hazy looking beer. It has a burnt orange look to it. There's a 1 finger white head to this beer, that actually lasts a long time. There's just a bit of lacing on the glass as the head dissipates.
The aroma is actually still filled with hops. I get some citrus notes in this beer, mostly tangerine. I am also getting signs of the age of this beer: I am getting cardboard notes in the nose as well.
The flavor has many citrus notes in it, but I am sure they've faded a lot. I get some pineapple notes up front. Tangerine comes in toward the rear. There's also hints of the cardboard in the mix as well, but I am not surprised by that.
The body is quite thick feeling. There's a crisp feeling to the beer. Nice fullness to the body.
This beer should have been consumed a long time ago, but it still has a lot of what this beer was back in the day.

Wow, this is a really pleasing IPA. Well balances, nice ibu's and greta hop flavor. I'm surprised, Summit. This is a great local ipa.

Poured from a can into a pint glass. Pours a straw color with little head. More malty than hoppy, as most Summit brews are, but well balanced with a nice mouthfeel.

Can. Beige head. Golden color.

Classic ipa. Bready malts. Earthy, grassy, floral hops. A little dank/weedy and resiny. Medium bodied. A bit too much carbonation. Ends sticky/bitter.

12oz can from the variety pack. has a date on the bottom. oka bojy

Little foam sticks around the rim and a splatter in the middle. Smells like classic Saga© - armpit full of pineapple and pine and apple. Tastes mass produced -hard alcohol taste and uninteresting malt, but is very well hopped - sweet fruit, floral aromatics, bitter pine.... very 'chewy' feel. Almost like that good ole' Mt. Dew

A good IPA, very hoppy

A very pleasing kind of old-school ipa, with a little splash of bright citrus to lift things up, but a nice (if modest) amount of sticky and oily and piney bitterness and malty character (more crackery than bready), without being heavy,..finishes by coming to a nice point, with a little wintergreen minty freshness at the end. Mouthful is just about perfect...neither too light nor too heavy, and again...for what it is, I think this does bitterness really pleasantly, which seems like a quality that is harder and harder to find, lately. A lot going on and maybe a little muddled if one is looking for too much, but, idk, I really enjoyed it. I made a good decision in getting a sixer of these 12 oz cans, while sheltering in place. Enjoyed in my La Fin Du Monde tulip, on a mid-April night in the mid-20s, while sitting by the fire.

Appearance: Very light for an IPA. Pours a clear, light golden color with a medium, white, spotted head. SRM of 7-8. (3.75)

Aroma: Medium aromas of orange juice, slight pineapple, before lots of fresh melon juice. Tropical. Hints of airy pine. Leans on the juicy and airy side, but maintains restraint. (3.75)

Flavor: Orange and grapefruit juice. with some melon & hint of green grape. Some flowery pine notes to follow. Low to moderate bitterness. Rather dry and clean. (3.50)

Feel: Lighter-bodied. Crisp and well-carbonated. Finishes clean with a dry finish. Bitterness is restrained. (4.00)

Compared with Bad Weather Brewing's Hopcromancer 3/28/20: Pours a much lighter color. Much more juice rather than nectar. Has more airy flower and pine too. This one drinks more like juice and less like syrup. Much lighter, dry, and cleaner.

Compared to Bent Paddle Golden Hop IPA 4/25/22: Pours slightly lighter. Lighter aromas. More citrus and pine. Less stonefruit and resinous berry/pine notes.

Overall: A very balanced IPA. The blend of hops gives a complex fruit aroma and it's hard to pick one fruit out of the bunch. Yet it finishes lighter, crisp, and clean. Nothing too complex. Nothing too special. I'd rate this pretty darn average for an IPA. (Final Rating: 3.68)

Faint haze orange amber poured vigorously with a 1” cap of white foam. Heavy lacing. Looks great. Smells resinous and slightly citric. Classic character. Taste is resin and pith bitterness with some lightly citrus sweetness balanced by crackery malt. Medium firm palate. Dryish and lingering bitterness. This one is a classic IPA if there is such. Pretty tasty too.

I like this IPA. Not quite old school but close. Good dose of pine and citrus on the aroma and flavor. Malt backing is sturdy and adds some toffee and English IPA impressions. Good lingering dryness and bitterness to this. Those who want a juicy fruit IPA will not be impressed with this.

Overall it is tough to pinpoint specific flavors and characteristics beyond pine and citrus. Comes across a little muddled and the malt backing adds to it. Still very enjoyable to just drink and not decipher.
