This is summits first ever barrel aged beer. Aged in 2 gingers barrels that have been across the pond and back.
Color is a very dark brown, nearing black.
The flavor is of oak and vanilla with a lot of chocolate. The Irish whiskey flavors do show. The barrel presence in this beer is fairly high. A lot of caramel and chocolate malts.
The mouthfeel isn't as creamy as regular oatmeal stout (because it isn't on nitro) and it seems to be a bit undercarbed. The mouthfeel isn't near as good as the original.
I was able to have a couple pints of this. I really enjoyed it, but it is much different from the original.
