Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a dark brown close to black sort of color with a fair finger’s worth of level head. Sly lace. The aroma blends some roasted coffee tones, sly milk chocolate, a light dark chocolate and then wraps in a quaint bit of smoke ever so subtly at the end. The flavor leans just a touch towards the roasty side but definitely wants to bring in the sweetness from the chocolate, both milk and dark. Lenient sweet to puffy roasted edged aftertaste and ends up sliding into the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionably smooth yet roasty sort of feel along my tongue. Good carbonation. ABV felt appropriate. Overall, nicely done porter that I wouldn’t mind having again.
