The appearance was a muddy burnt copper/orange almost brown color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated evenly with a touch of mess lace. The aroma had a slight cedar/woody dry fruity crispness with some citrus bitter rind. Balancing malt backbone. The flavor seems more balanced in this series beer than the other three as a bit more bitterness seems to come out. Aftertaste and finish are abrupt and fully bittersweet. On the palate, this one was medium bodied and seemed to have the best balance of the series so far with an exceptional bittersweet oily feel rolling about my tongue. ABV felt there as projected by the brewer. Overall, my first wow beer of this series. Hoping this is the one that they do bring back.
