Day Shift is a light and easy drinking pale ale that has had its fair share of hops added along the way. From bittering hops to aroma hops, and then loads of dry hops too. So yes, expect a hoppy flavour with notes of citrus and pine. Have a FIERCE Day Shift!

Copenhagen 930/6 2019. 33 cl can from Meny, Rotunden, Hellerup. A Vulture in a Suit with tie on the can. I sense a Subtle and Elegant criticism of Capitalism.

Pours hazy, golden yellow with a medium-sized white head. Settles as thin, consistent layer of fluffy foam covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.

Aroma has a moderate intensity. Light, fruity and a bit perfumed with a citric twist. Sweet tropical fruit like Peach and Mango with a light fermented touch. Distinct citric notes of Grape fruit.

Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, soft, watery, creamy texture.

Flavor is medium sweet followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is citric and bitter with a light sweet undercurrent. Lingers shortly. Semi-dry finish.

Middle of the road APA. Nicely balanced, quite watery and refreshing.

440 ml can, from the brewery webshop. ABV is 5.0%. Pale golden colour, only slightly hazy. Large white head. Nice aroma of pineapple and other tropical fruits, also citrus, hints of spruce. Flavour with the same elements, but the freshness could be more distinct, and the bitterness is too low. Still a drinkable beer.

Taste is fruity and herbal with a pretty strong hop presence. Notes of citrus, peach and grass with a moderate bitterness.

Overall, a nice, drinkable pale ale.

330ml Can from Lidl Supermarket, Scotland (£1.25):
Basic but quite enjoyable, the beer had some floral touches & sweet fruits coming through but was light on the bitterness & nothing really dominated. It was quite an easy going beer that was lightly carbonated, something that surprised me but it was pleasant enough without quite warranting a return to try it again.

Canned in a crafty craft can
pours a slightly hazy straw body with big foaming white head that sticks around
lime & battery acid lemonade aroma
there is that in the flavour with a good shortbread like malt backbone giving a solid body & a great apa

A 330ml bottle with a BB of Aug 2018. Acquired a while back from the Brewdog webshop.

A: Poured into a Duvel tulip. Bottle conditioned. A rich orange-amber colour with faint haze and light carbonation. Yields a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a minute or two before subsiding to a patchy surface layer. Some lacing.

S: Aroma of fruity hops with hints of citrus zest, peel, mild tropical fruit, white grape, mild melon, grass, caramel malt and ale yeast. Comparitively subtle but pleasant.

T: Tastes of fruity aromatic hops with notes of citrus zest, peel, subtle tropical fruit, white grape, grass/hay, caramel malt, ale yeast and faint earthiness. Slightly sweet, followed by a modest hoppy bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth and lightly tingly, with soft carbonation and decent body. Could certainly use some enhanced texture. Aftertaste of fruity aromatic hops, citrus, caramel malt and ale yeast.

O: OK but not outstanding. Looks alright, while the aroma and flavour are a blend of aroma hops, sweet malt and yeast. So-so body; could be livelier. Not overly bitter - clearly focussing on aroma with the hopping. Drinkable, just don't expect to be blown away. Worth sampling.

Pours a slightly hazy copper with a slight orange hue. Head is medium and leaves good lacing. Nose is not big, but has nice orange along with a bit of dank tropical fruits. Taste is similar, but also has a powdered sugar flavor without being sweet. Mouthfeel is watery and really lets the beer down as a whole. Overall, a good beer that is lacking in areas. Seems like it would be pretty easy to tweak the recipe for something really good.

From a 330ml bottle.
L: Murky, dark copper (looks better with back light, becomes orange/gold) with a thin cap.
S: Vibrant, sharp, orange smell. A bit SunnyD-like. But with heather honey to sharpen it.
T: A lot of orange again. Plus metallic elements creeping in.
F: Light to medium body. Moderate carbonation. Dry and bitter. A bit flat in the finish.
O: Smells and tastes a little bit artificial. Too orangey. Not 'freshly squeezed', more 'from concentrate'.
