440ml can from Aldi (£1.79):
Black with an opaque body & a 1cm, bubbly head that's tan brown & wavy on the bottom. The nose is dark malts with a fruity backing, mainly brambles & cherry, blackberries & some nutty notes. The taste is more fruity & very slightly sour/funky with blackberry & raspberry flavours coming through alongside darker malts & a hint of chocolate but overall there's no real balance to it. It's sharp & faintly funky with a medium body & lively carbonation but it's a bit of a mess after an okay nose really.

Can. Almost black. Pours with an extra thick, cream coloured, frothy head which gradually recedes to a thin wispy one.
A twiggy and leaf like aroma mixed with some fruit and nut dark chocolate bar.
A tangy blackberry flavour. Quite sharp. Leafy. Evenly balanced. Sweet at the front and mildly bitter to finish.
Well carbonated. Medium body.
A very interesting brew. Not fond of additives to style but this one worked.
