a super light brown ale, made for summer, apparently brewed with oats and wheat, which are not conventional malts for the style, but they also dont give this all the much body, so there cant be too much of them in here. it seems mellow for being ingredient intensive, but i like the beer a lot, mild cocoa and caramel notes but its not overly sweet, just sort of a session malt forward ale, with just a light citrus hop finish, sort of a weird combination of things, but it ends up working well i think, and there arent a lot of beers like this, almost fashioned like an english dark mild, but without the yeast profile, simple in its overall vibe, but with some cool nuance. i dont think this has quite enough grabbing me and pulling me in for it to be one of their best sellers, but its cool to have a lighter drinking brown ale that scratches this particular itch in hot weather. i had fun in here chatting with the guys and hearing about their approach, i wish them all the best, and will definitely visit again!
